Why does the 8000 series have so many error codes?


The 8000 series by Worcester Bosch is a "Smart Boiler". This boiler has more sensors and electronic inputs which lets it provide us with a more accurate description of what is going on. Unlike have 1 error code which may cover many issues, the 8000 has an error code for everything. This helps us diagnose problems fatser and saves you money!




Error Code: 200 O


Cause: Boiler in heating mode Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: No Solutions To Try: Nothing to worry about. Currently in hot water mode.




Error Code: 201 O


Cause: Boiler in hot water mode Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: No Solutions To Try: Boiler in hot water mode. Nothing to worry about.




Error Code: 202 O


Cause: Boiler in anti-cycle mode Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: No. Solutions To Try: Boiler in anti-cycle mode. Nothing to worry about it.




Error Code: 203 O


Cause: Boiler in standby – no heat energy demand Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Visibly look for the spark




Error Code: 204 O


Cause: Current primary water temperature higher than set value Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: No Solutions To Try: Water in tank is warmer than request. Nothing to worry about.




Error Code: 208 O


Cause: Chimney sweep demand. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Service mode option for engineer.




Error Code: 224 V


Cause: Safety temperature limiter has tripped. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: No Solutions To Try: Top-up water until the reset pressure is reached. If that doesn't work you may need an engineer to bleed the system and re-check the boilers status.




Error Code: 227 V


Cause: No flame signal after ignition. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer will need to check the burner control unit. Could need replacing.




Error Code: 228 V


Cause: Flame signal without flame present. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Check ionisation cable. Possibly needs replacing. Check gas control valve.




Error Code: 305 0


Cause: Boiler in hot water anti-cycle mode. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: No Solutions To Try: Nothing to worry about it.




Error Code: 306 0


Cause: Flame signal after closing the fuel supply. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer to check gas ratio control valve.




Error Code: 360 V


Cause: Incompatible code plug. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Check if a correct code plug is installed and exchange or reconnect code plug.




Error Code: 815W/B


Cause: Low loss header temperature sensor faulty. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer to check the sensor port or check the differential sensor for incorrect installation position or breakage. Correct the installation.




Error Code: 1010 O


Cause: No BUS communication cable, EMS-Bus isn’t connected or damaged. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer to connect the cable for the EMS-Bus or replace the damaged cable exchange fuse.




Error Code: 1017 W


Cause: Water pressure too low. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: The water needs topping up and the vent system or pressure sensor may need replacing




Error Code: 1021 B


Cause: Hot water temperature sensor is defective. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer to check the plug to the hot water temperature, sensor may not be connected.




Error Code: 1022 B


Cause: Hot water storage temperature sensor is defective. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Connect the plug to the hot water temperature sensor correctly, mount the hot water temperature sensor correctly or replace the hot water temperature sensor.




Error Code: 1037 B


Cause: Outside temperature sensor is defective. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Check the connecting lead.




Error Code: 1065 B


Cause: Pressure sensor defective or not connected. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Check pressure sensor connection as it may need replacing or cleaning.




Error Code: 1068 W


Cause: Outside temperature sensor defective. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Check the connecting lead.




Error Code: 1074 W


Cause: No signal from the flow temperature sensor available. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Connect the plug to the flow temperature sensor correctly or temperature sensor could need replacing.




Error Code: 1073 W


Cause: Short circuit of the flow temperature sensor. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer to check temperature sensor and check circulation in the sytem. May need replacing.




Error Code: 1075 W


Cause: Short circuit of the temperature sensor at the heating block. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Temperature sensor may need replacing.




Error Code: 1076 W


Cause: No signal from the temperature sensor at the heating block available. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer will need to check the connecting lead or the control unit. May need replacing.




Error Code: 2920 V


Cause: Error with the flame monitoring. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer to check connection, leads and flame detection probe.




Error Code: 2924 V


Cause: No feedback from the modulating gas valve. The gas valve relay is defective. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer will need to restart the boiler and check gas valve.




Error Code: 2925 V


Cause: Feedback from the modulating gas valve is too low. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer will need to check connection on gas valve.




Error Code: 2927 B


Cause: Flame failed during burner operation. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer to check gas inlet. Check elctrode, leads and flue system.




Error Code: 2946 V


Cause: Incorrect code plug detected. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Tthe code plug needs replacing.




Error Code: 2948 B


Cause: No flame signal. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer to check electrode, leads and burner assembly.




Error Code: 2950 B


Cause: No flame signal. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer to check electrode, leads and burner assembly.




Error Code: 2963 B


Cause: Signal from flow and heat exchanger temperature sensor outside the permissible range. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer will be required to check temprature sensor, connecting leads and circulation.




Error Code: 2965 B


Cause: Flow rate in heat exchanger is too low. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Flow temperature too high.




Error Code: 2964 B


Cause: Flow rate in heat exchanger is too low. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer will need to check for blockages or faulty heat exchanger.




Error Code: 2966 B


Cause: Flow temperature rise in heat exchanger too rapid. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer needs to check for blockages in system or boiler. Temprature sensors and heat exchanger will need checking also.




Error Code: 2970 B


Cause: Pressure drop in heating system too rapid. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Engineer to check connections on pressure sensor and check for leaks.




Error Code: 2967 B


Cause: Flow / heat exchanger temperature sensor differential too great. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: Check for air in the system, blockages and check sensors and heat exchange.




Error Code: 2971 B


Cause: System pressure too low. Difficulty: 1 2 3 4 5 Engineer: Required Solutions To Try: The heating system needs venting or water needs topping up until the preset pressure is reached. Replace the cable to the pressure sensor replace the pressure sensor.
